ELEMENTS OF STYLE CARD

Today I made a raid on my stamp room!  Boy did it need it!  It looked like someone had thrown a grenade in it!  Usually when I go on the mad cleaning raid I get it all neat and tidy, then I feel like stamping again!  I vow every time I'm not going to be so messy but must be the artist in me because before I know it, everything is all our of sorts again!

Anyway after all that, I want to share my first creation from my clean stamping room.  This also somewhat fits the bill for the Late Night Stampers ED card.  I finally got to play with one of my new stamp sets from the Summer Mini catalogue, Elements of Style.  I'm in love!  It's beautiful images are a delight to work with.  Sensing a class for sure!

ELEMENTS OF STYLE CARD

The stamps were colored with markers and then stamped.  When coloring the stamps I started with the lightest colors first and then I ran the darker colors along the edge of the stamp to define the images.  Here is the supply list for this card:

HAPPY EASTER ALL! GUESS WHAT'S NEW???

To kick off your Easter weekend I thought I'd tell you about a great new sale going on at Stampin' Up!  There is a brand new CLEARANCE RACK full of really fabulous buys!

CM493B

Some of my all time favorite papers are there for unbelievable prices!  In Color Cardstock that has been retired, buttons, ribbons, rub-ons and scrapbook kits are all there!  This is one sale you don't want to miss out on.  Have a look as prices are fantastic.

The other interesting discovery I made while cruising around in there, is that if you really want a smooth ride when you go to place an order there, use Fire Fox instead of Internet Explorer.  I have had several customers tell me how hard it was to order online and I think I have a solution to your problem.  SImply download Fire Fox and use it as your web browser when shopping there and you will find your problems are over!

Besides all the discounted prices, orders of $200 or more get freebies just like a hostess order so have your own party this Easter!  Trust me I had one already!!!  LOL

The other fun news I have for you is that today was the first day that I was allowed to pre-order things from the brand new Summer Mini Catalogue!  In that order I had 2 parties!!!  Wait until you see what I got and of course you will see all the results of my playing here!   For all my loyal customers keep an eye on your mail box because the Summer Mini Catalogue will be appearing before you know it!

POP UP CARD WITH WINGS

This project is adorable and the original inspiration came from Anne Brignall who is also one of the guest designers at Ustamp's Spring Soiree.  The actual base and main frame of the card is from her design but of course I've changed up all the colors, papers, etc. etc.

Here it is:

WELCOME NEIGHBOR POP UP CARD

I've used a number of different designer papers for this one and really had fun creating this little miniature.  Have I ever told you that I love miniatures?  Always fascinated by them even as a very young child.  This design was completely done with papers, no stamping.  What was I thinking?  I love how the striped paper actually looks like a fence when you scallop the top with our Scallop Border punch.

REMINDER: TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY THAT YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR THE SWEET PEA ONLINE CLASS AT THE DISCOUNTED RATE OF ONLY $15.

BABY CARD

They started something new this year at the Ustamp Spring Soiree, an inspiration challenge.  For those of you who are new to challenges, basically it's when you are inspired by something other than an actual stamping project, and you create a stamping project from that inspiration.  Could be a picture from a magazine, a color combination, clothing or anything that get's your creativity flowing.  This challenge was given by Jennifer Picard from British Columbia and basically it was a picture of a baby standing in a crib, with a large giraffe standing by.

Here's what I came up with:

Sweet Pea Card

The crib bars inspired me to use a striped paper and the baby to make a baby card.  I didn't really feel like a giraffe so I went with a deer from the Forest Friends stamp set instead.  To make him baby friendly I added a little pink to him with a blender pen and a Regal Rose ink pad.  The "Sweet Pea" greeting comes frm the Little Angel stamp set and to add a little extra color to it, I traced it with the Regal Rose marker after stamping it in Basic Gray.

For embellishments I added the Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon and some Pretty in Pink brads.  Of course I had to add a little scallop trim along the top and a score line just to complete the look I was going for.

SPRING SOIREE WELCOME PROJECT

This is my take on the very first project at the Spring Soiree.  Dawn created a framed picture using this stamp set, which was a welcome sign that included something from every season.  I decided to turn the idea into a card and here are my results:

Spring Soiree Welcome Project

With such a great color palette and the Best Wishes & More Stamp Set this is what I came up with.  I love the In colors she used: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango and Melon Mambo.  I also loved the way she framed everything with black on her original work.  I of course had to add the ribbons and the brads because as you all know I'm the embellishment queen!  I also pierced each of the scallops around the 3 sides of the stamped image.  These tiny scallops were the Hugs & Kisses Cards in the Occasions Mini.  I just cut them in half.

This was a quick and easy card.  Hope you will try it at home!

BIRTHDAY CARD FRO MY MOM

Today has started out to be a great day, because I got to stamp!  I was cutting for my Saturday Holiday Club and then got inspired but the pile of scraps on my desk.  Nice spring colors in those scraps so I decided to make a birthday car for my mom, since it's coming up soon.

AMETHYST BIRTHDAY CARD

The color palette consists of Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Whisper White and just a touch of Garden Green in the D/P and the stems of the flowers.  The Stamp Set is from the Mini Occasion Catalogue and is called, "Messages for Mom". It is a great set to do Mother Day's cards with.  The idea for the layout came from last week's Mojo Monday challenge which I missed but they always have such great layouts that I often use them for a little inspiration.  The images were stamped with Basic Black ink and then colored with markers.  A very simple card but I love the nice spring colors and the elegance of it. Perfect for my mom for sure!

Thanks for dropping by!
