OUT ON A LIMB CARD

Here is one of the make 'n takes that we did at the Holiday Mini Open House on Saturday.

Out On a Limb Card

Out On a Limb Halloween Card Directions

  1. Take the Old Olive mat and sponge all the edges with Basic Black Classic Ink.  Flat tape this piece to the card front using Snail Adhesive.
  2. Tape the Cajun-Black dotted designer paper to one of the Basic Black cardstock mat.  Tape to the card front,  left side of the card as shown, using Snail Adhesive.
  3. Tape the Olive-Black cats designer paper to the other Basic Black card stock mat.  Tape to the right hand side of the card front, slightly overlapping the previous piece.
  4. Take the Whisper White card stock and stamp the Witch, the cat, the broom and the tree branch using black ink.
  5. Punch out the cat using the small oval punch.  Flat tape this to the Scalloped Oval Black mat and flat tape to the large oval Old Olive mat.  Pop this on to the bottom center of the polka-dot designer paper using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. Punch out the witch using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch.  Flat tape to the Black 2" Circle Mat.  Using the piercing mat and piercing tool punch a hole in each of the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle, scallops.  Flat tape the matted witch to this.  Attach to the matted cat piece using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. Carefully cut out the broom and the tree branch using the paper snip scissors.  Apply snail to the backs and position the broom under the witch and the branch under the cat.
  8. Using Stampin' Markers, color the cats eyes and the witches hair with Delightful Daffodil; color the witches stockings and the cat's nose with Pumpkin Pie; and finally color the broom bristles with Crumb Cake.
  9. Ink up the "happy halloween" greeting, with Basic Black Ink and stamp on the upper left hand corner or the lower right hand corner if you prefer.
  10. Cut a 3" piece of Black Satin Ribbon and tie in a knot in the center.  Trim and adhere to the upper part of the black cat mat using a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the dot!
  11. Stamp another image of your choice from the set in black ink and punch out with the 1-1/2" Circle Punch.  Mount on the extra 1-3/4" Black Circle and adhere to your card inside.
  12. Using a small amount of Dazzling Details add a little sparkle to the broom and the branches of the tree.  Allow to dry thoroughly before placing the card in your clear envelope.
  13. Congratulations you are finished.

MONDAY'S MARVELOUS PROJECT - FATHER'S DAY CARD SET

<

Presently I'm involved as a designer at the Ustamp Big Shot Online Class.  If you love 3-D items and lots of variety in styles you need to sign up for this terrific and fun online class.  Every project has used the Big Shot.  So dust yours off and join in the fun.  For registration information go to:

http://ustampwithdawn.blogspot.com/

The fun of online classes is that when a project is posted you then have the opportunity to re-create that project using the products you have on hand.  This project that I made was originally designed by Jen Picard from Canada.  You can visit her blog at:

http://www.anewinkonlife.typepad.com/

Her original design was created with the Simply Scrappin' Kit Happy B-Day.  I changed it up and did it with the Simply Scrappin' Kit Tailor Made, which is perfect for masculine cards.  Here's the project with 8 matching cards:

MONDAY'S MARVELOUS PROJECT - MOJO MONDAY 136

<

That's right it's Monday all over again!  So of course I love to try and participate in the Mojo Monday challenge and the latest challenge on Late Night Stampers.  So this morning I created a card that fits the bill for both challenges at once!

First to the Mojo Monday Challenge, here's the sketch:

Now for the Late Night Stampers Challenge which is an inspiration challenge.  Basically how an inspiration challenge works is you are inspired by something else, in this case a picture.  Here's the picture:

 image002

I was inspired by the colors in this photograph.  So here's the card I came up with to work for both challenges:

MOJO 136

The interesting thing about this card is that I made my own paper for the layer underneath the Chocolate Chip Scallop.  I took water color paper and did a gradient wash using different shades of oranges and yellows.  Once it was dry I embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder from the New Summer Mini Catalogue.  After embossing I gave it a light spritz with the new Log Cabin Smooch Spritz also from the same catalogue.

The stamped image was created with the New Watercolor Trio Stamp Set.  I simply colored it with markers and then stamped it, again and again without re inking it to get that faded out look.  I sponged the edges of that stamped circle with chocolate chip and mounted it on the Chocolate Chip Circle Scallop from the Scallop Circles #2 die cut.

Embellishments included Chocolate Satin Ribbon, More Mustard Buttons and More Mustard brads.  Thanks for dropping by!  Have a great Monday.

MONDAY'S MARVELOUS PROJECT - SPRING SONG

For today's project I tried out a new Stamp Set that I received in my Sale-a-Bration freebies.  Spring Songis found in the All Natural section of the catalogue and is the perfect set for any kind of coloring techniques.  Because I wanted to maintain a very earthy palette it I combined it with papers from the To The Nines Specialty designer paper and color choices of Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke and So Saffron.

I115074F

Of course you know I love this Stamp Set as it has 2 birds in it!  LOL

I114038F

This designer paper is really card stock weight and I love the shades and the fact that it is the perfect choice for man cards.

Here's the card I came up with:

SPRING SONG CARD

The bird was colored with a blender pen, using Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron and Always Artichoke inks.  Just to tie in the yellow I added the buttons and then the Satin Chocolate Chip for the finishing touch. The greeting says,"You're friendship is like a Spring Song".  I guess that's how I feel about all my stamping friends, which includes you!

Time is running out to sign up for my SWEET PEA ON-LINE CLASS which starts on April 12th!  Click on the Blinkie below for full details!
