The Movers & Shakers die allows you to cut out and score a card that measures 4 - 1/4" x 11".  The fun thing is that half of the die is magnetic and allows you to place a magnetic shape die, which will cut out a shaped window from the front of the card.  The wonderful thing is that this shape can be placed wherever you like so that you can choose where you place your window; top, bottom, center or any corner of the card front.  The main die is found in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue and comes with the shaper of the Curly Label Punch.

You can purchase other moveable shapers in sets of 4.  In the main catalogue there is the Punch Windows set.

Punch Windows
Of course the advantage of these compared to punches is that the can be placed even in the center of a card or mat where a punch cannot reach.  There is also a brand new 4 piece set in the Holiday Mini catalogue: Holiday Windows.

Holiday Windows

In this set the ornament window is the perfect mat for our ornament punch.  The Circle works perfectly with the Sweet Treat cups, which I featured in yesterday's project and it is this weeks challenge if you'd like to enter.  Here's an elegant card I made using the dove window and the Bride Specialty Paper.  Although I created a Christmas Card with it I think the colors would also make a great wedding card if you just changed the greeting.

I love my Big Shot!  Especially this time of year when there are so many wonderful projects we can make for Christmas.  As you know I'm surely a Christmas fanatic!  I love it all!  The decorations, the trees... yes that's right trees.  I usually have lots of them in my home including a small one that just fits perfectly in my bathroom!  ha ha

So to get you in the Holiday spirit, I know it's only Thanksgiving but after all both Holidays do have turkeys don't they?  And they both give us the perfect reason to be thankful for what God had provided for us in so many blessings.  Ok back to the post....

This is an ornament that I created on my Big Shot and this is really an easy project.  I'd say 10 minutes max!

Cardstock: Shimmery White Cardstock

Designer Paper: Red & White Flocked Paper from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Collection

Ribbons: 3/4" Polka Dot Real Red, 1/2" Double Stitched White & Red Ribbon, Silver Elastic Cord

Embellishments: 2 Red Crystal Rhinestone Brads, 1 Silver 1/8" Eyelet

Tools: The Big Shot, Snowflake #2 Die, 2" Circle Punch, Piercing Mat, Piercing Tool, Crop-a-dile

Other: Sweet Treat Cup

Adhesive: Mini Glue Dots

To purchase any of these supplies simply go to my Online Store and click on the SHOP NOW button.

On the Big Shot die cut 4 snowflakes from the Shimmery White Cardstock or the Bride Specialty Cardstock

  • Using a 2" Circle Punch or your Circle Scissors Plus cut out 2 - 2 inch circles of the flocked designer paper
  • Cut a 6 -1/4 " piece of 1/2" Ribbon and a 22" Piece of the Polka Dot Ribbon

  • Using your mini dots wrap and adhere your 1/2" ribbon around the side of the  Sweet Treat Cup and set aside
  • Next layer one snowflake over the other so that the tips are staggered and keep in place with mini dots in the center and at overlapping spots so that one snowflake is firmly fastened to another
  • Fold your polka dot ribbon in half and lay over the Treat cup so that the folded top is extending over the cup 1-3/4".  Adhere this to the treat cup using Mini Dots
  • Again using mini dots adhere your 2" flocked circle over the Polka Dot Ribbon to the clear top of the Sweet Treat Cup using Mini Dots.  Be generous especially over the ribbon.
  • Lay the Treat Cup on a flat surface and line up your first pair of snowflakes over the  center of the 2" circle.
  • Pierce a hole in the center through the snowflakes, the 2" circle, the polka dot ribbon and the treat cup.  Insert the Rhinestone Brad and open on the inside of the Treat cup
  • Your ornament is half completed
  • Turn over the Treat Cup so that the snowflakes are now laying flat against your table or desk
  • Layer 2 snowflakes together as before
  • Center over the second 2" Circle and adhere in place
  • Remover the Sticky Cover from the back of the Treat Cup which is now facing you.
  • Carefully stick the second group of snowflakes over this adhesive back making sure you keep everything centered
  • Using your crop a dile set a silver eyelet in the top of your ribbon and then tie the silver cording through it.
  • You're done!

Imagine the possibilities for the color combinations with this fun project.
