FRIDAY'S FABULOUS STAMP SET - ON A PEDESTAL

Today I'm going to show  you 2 of the cards we will be completing in the On A Pedestal Class which I'm now booking for August 19-09.  If you would like to learn how to make these cute cards why not join me and have a night out with the girls.  Beginners are welcome!

HAPPY EVERYTHING CARD

I love this color combination!  The new Melon Mambo goes so well with Chocolate Chip but then all shades of pink do.  I also love the new polka dot ribbons that are reversible and plain on the reverse side.  Of course they come in all our new delicious In Colors!

SWEET TREATS CARD

Once again I have chosen one of the new In Colors...Crushed Curry.  I really liked it with Taken With Teal and the Vellum Polka dot paper goes perfectly as it allows the Curry to show through and matches well with the Curry Polka Dotted ribbon.  Can you tell I was in the mood for polka dots??!!!  Just as a little surprise I added a touch of Real Red!

Basically for this class I tried to combine some different colors from soft and subtle to bold and bright.  Hope you can join me to create these cards and enjoy a little friendship with myself and all my stamping friends.!  In order to get the stamp sets in time for the class you will need to register by tomorrow...August 1-09

MONDAY'S MARVELOUS PROJECT - HAMBURGER CARD

I spent the day on Saturday, enjoying the friendship and fun of fellow demonstrators as we enjoyed a day of stamping and sharing ideas.  These events are so fun and another reason why I love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!

One of the Make 'N Takes we made was soooooo cute that I  just had to share it.  You read right... we created an embellishment all made of punched cardstock that looks like a hamburger!  We ate a few also!!!

Here's the card and I know you are going to love this idea, because it's just too cute and perfect for that hamburger lover on your list for cards.

HAMBURGER CARD

The following punches were used to create this: Wide Oval for the Hamburger buns, Small Oval for the Hamburger pattie, 3/4" Circle for the tomato, 3/4" square for the cheese slice, and the  Boho Blossom for the lettuce.  Simply punch out these shapes and layer them in the order given and then add a final Wide Oval punch of the Creamy Caramel for the top bun.  If you like Sesame Seeds on your bun then just add a vew dots and dashes with your Chocolate Chip marker.

The rest of the card was also very simple.  Simply use a Kraft card front, and layer on it the textured piece of Real Red, the Eyelet Edged border, and a piece of Chocolate Chip that was split with a bone folder to give it that natural paper look.

Stamp, "For You",  from Teeny Weeny Wishes and you have a fun card that is perfect for the Summer.  Wouldn't it make a great invitation for a barbecue?!

Each year Stampin' Up! creates a special stamp set to help with Ronald MacDonald House Charities.  This wonderfull charity provides free accomodations for people who have family members that are presently admitted to hospital.  This especially beneficial when people have to be transferred to large centers from out of province.

This year's stamp set is Very Thankful which has some great images with styles that are very diverse.  Great for both Adult and Children friendly cards.  I especially love the elegance of the peacock!

TUESDAY'S TERRIFIC TIP - ADDING TEXTURE WITH MASKING TAPE

I love to discover new ways to create backgrounds and textures to my cards and scrapbook pages.  I particularly love it when it involves using materials that are found in household supplies that are readily accessible.  Here's a great technique using ordinary masking tape.

Tear masking tape into small pieces and cover the front of a piece of cardstock with them, overlapping the pieces.   Next using 3-4 complimentary Classic ink pads an begin adding color directly to the tape moving from the lightest to the darkest ink.  Coat the entire background with Versamark Ink and then emboss with clear embossing powder.  Heat Set this and you'll love the finished product.

I love doing this technique with Fall colors, such as our Earth Elements palette and it also turns out beautifully for Christmas cards when you use colors combined with Metallic inks.

Masking Tape Card

The card I created to show you the finished product used 3 of  the blues from the Rich Regals palette which include: Bordering Blue, Brocade Blue and Night of Navy.  I also used some Encore Silver Ink on the masking tape background which works very well with the blues.  The masking tape tends to dull the color somewhat for a very soft and subtle effect.

The images were stamped with Brocade Blue and came from the new stamp set, "For All You Do".  They were stamped on Bordering Blue.  For embellishments I chose the 1/4" Night of Navy grosgrain ribbon and one of the blue rhinestone brads from the Ice Circle collection.

My challenge to you is to create your own masking tape card and email me your results so I can post them on the Customer Gallery on my site.

I know these aren't traditional Christmas colors but perhaps today I just wanted to create a card with those beautiful new In Colors!  Here's what I came up with........

Thoroughly Modern Christmas

This was created by layering different pieces of the designer papers which were matted on Rose Red, Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay.  The stamp set is a Hostess Level 1 set which has 4 stamps for 4 different Holidays.  I love the delicate images and the beautiful fonts used in this set.

To create the cardinal and the greeting I simply repeated the stamping with different colors of ink, cut them out and popped them on the original design.  Such a simply card but great results.

FRIDAY'S FABULOUS STAMP SET - WINGS OF FRIENDSHIP

As you all know, I LOVE birds! This Level 2 Hostess set is adorable and of course one of my favorites because it has a bird.  I also love the design because I love all the swirls.  Sometimes we tend to take our friends for granted and I think this is the perfect set to set a little wish to our friends and let them know how special they are.

Wings of Friendship Hostess Level 2 Stamp Set

114308L

The first card I did has a color palette of Not Quite Navy and Whisper White.  I stamped the image with Not Quite Navy classic ink and then hi-lighted certain areas with a Versamarker and embossed them with Clear embossing powder.  I also used a Gold/Silver Zig painty pen to add a few extra hi-lights to the design.  Our Whisper White Satin ribbon was perfect for the elegant look of this card.

WINGS 1

The second card was done with a More Mustard and Chocolate Chip palette.  I simply stamped on directily on to the designer paper placing one of the swirls in each of the 4 corners of the center piece.  To finish I simply stamped the greeting in the center and added a few crystals for some bling.  I also added our Soft Suede polka dot ribbon which added a third color to the mix.

WINGS 2

This is a Level 2 hostess set and is not available for purchase. You can only get this stamp as a reward for a qualifying Stampin' Up! workshop. When you book your workshop for you and your friends, I can  make it simpler for you by doing the workshop in my home!  Contact me today and let's get the party started.

TUESDAY'S TERRIFIC TIP - CREATING CIRCULAR FRAMES AND RINGS

CIRCLE SCISSOR PLUS

If you love the look of circle frames, you don’t need to buy separate die-cut circle frames or rings. All you need is the Circle Scissor Plus!  When cutting rings, cut the smaller circle, or the centre of the ring, first, and then don’t move the cutter. Make sure it stays in place while you adjust the size for the outside circle of your ring, and then cut again. Keeping the cutter in place the whole time is the key to making perfect rings. You’ll end up with a custom frame or ring in the size and colour you want.

For a great look, you can cut circles of different sizes in coordinating paper and layer them on your scrapbook pages.

Don't miss more information on this great product on tomorrow's post.  I will also be offering a one time special of 25% off on this fantastic product.
